One of the earliest-blooming perennials, ‘Thundercloud’ will veil your garden in deep purple-pink flowers from late spring to early summer. The fluffy, clustered blooms are borne on 3- to 4-foot-long stems over clump forming, pretty bluegreen foliage. ‘Thundercloud’ prefers semi-shade and moist, well-drained soil. Excellent for perennial borders and woodland gardens. A mass of these plants in flower has an ethereal effect, resembling a drift of purple smoke. Deer resistant. Zone 5.
