padMagnolia stellata 'Pink Stardust'

Star magnolia is one of the earliest flowering of the magnolias and makes a fine choice to use in foundation plantings and near patios, where its small size won’t overwhelm a space. ‘Pink Stardust’ is a choice cultivar sporting many large, starlike flowers in early spring that start out a rich pink and lighten as they open. The flowers are exceptionally full, with 40-50 petals each. The fully opened flowers are a soft pink/creamy white, 4-5 inches wide, and fragrant. Handsome deep green foliage turns yellow to bronze in fall. Bark on mature trees is smooth and gray and quite attractive. Plant in full sun to partial shade in average, well-drained garden soil and in a location where you can enjoy the flowers close up. Grows 10-12 feet tall with a slightly smaller spread.

Zone 4. 4-5 Feet, 5 gallon
