padLavandula x intermedia 'Dilly Dilly'

If you are a fan of lavenders, this new variety from Australia is a must-have. It’s shapely, aromatic and floriferous, not to mention deer resistant and hardy. Like all lavenders, ‘Dilly Dilly’ requires full sun and lean, fast-draining soil for best growth. Silvery foliage forms a dense compact mound, approximately 12 inches tall and wide. Years later, given the right conditions, it will still be a neat, dense ball, unlike other lavenders with their woody, open tendencies after time. Richly scented purple flower wands are held way above foliage all through the latter half of summer, and are a favorite of bees. The compact silhouette and halo of dried flower wands are beautiful in winter too. Zone 5.
