padGentiana makinoi 'Marsha' (Gentian)

Calling all blue flower lovers: this new cultivar of gentian features clusters of large, deep blue tubular flowers that bloom from late summer through fall atop strong, upright, 18- to 24-inch stalks. Dark green ovate leaves are arranged neatly around the stalk. Mother Nature grows gentian in her moist open meadows. You can grow it in moist garden soil in full sun to partial shade. Slow-growing, won’t take over your garden. Makes a terrific cut flower. Zone 3.
