Dependable and dramatic for a contrast of flowers and foliage in early spring, 'Bonfire’ emerges as a rounded, green mound that rapidly turns a rich, maroon red that lasts all summer. It’s the perfect background for its own buttery blooms and is especially fetching with blue-flowered spring bulbs. Forms neat, uniform mounds, 10 inches tall by 18 inches wide. Excellent choice for edging or the front of a sunny perennial bed. Works well in containers, too. Grows best in welldrained, poor-to-moderately fertile soil. Note that euphorbia’s milky sap may cause skin irritation; wear gloves when planting or deadheading. Deer and rabbit resistant. Zone 5.
