'Appalachian Red' is a beautiful selection of our native redbud. Before leaves emerge in spring, bright fuchsia pink flowers explode over the tree, slightly later than other redbuds. Nothing subtle about this flowering performance: ‘Appalachian Red’ will grab your attention from across the lawn. Grows 20-25 feet tall with a slightly greater spread. Its graceful branching pattern makes it attractive, even in winter. Best in full sun to light shade and well-drained, evenly moist, rich soil. A nice ‘edge of the woodlands’ small tree, or near the house or patio. Adaptable to most soils as long as the drainage is good.
Zone 4. 3-4 Feet, 3 gallon
