Unlike its fall-blooming cousins, this anemone shines in the spring when the fragrant white, single nodding flowers, decorated with golden stamens, appear to float in the breeze. This easy-to-grow perennial reaches 12-18 inches tall. This low maintenance shade perennial is at home in our local clay soil, but will quickly naturalize in lighter soils. Perfect for the woodland garden, it even tolerates full shade. If deadheaded after blooming it may re-bloom in the fall; however you may want to leave a few to develop the silky seedheads that are ornamental in their own right. Zone 4.
